Paracetamol Poisoning and Liver Failure
Paracetamol is the most common drug taken in overdose in the UK. Each year about 100,000 people present to emergency departments in the UK with paracetamol poisoning and about half are admitted for antidote therapy with acetylcysteine.
From basic Pharmacology of both paracetamol and acetylcysteine, to toxic effects of overdose to liver damage and how to manage it; this panel will go through it all in a practical interactive discussion.
